Pssst! Pssst! Hey, you! Can you keep a secret? Yeah? Good. Got some info that Tower Hamlets Council might find a bit embarrassing so this has got to be between you and me right? Nobody else. And don’t tell any residents.
And FFS don’t tell any residents who look after anyone with special educational needs and / or disabilities (SEND) ‘cos they might get well narked. Or ‘pissed’ as the Americans say.
Got it? Right.
It seems that between 28th June 2021 and 2 July 2021 Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) did a joint inspection of Tower Hamlets to judge the effectiveness of the area in implementing the special educational needs and / or disabilities (SEND) reforms that is in the Children and Families Act 2014.
Whatever that means.
This lady – and i don’t think this is a secret but you never know – is Deputy Mayor and Cabinet Member for Adults, Health and Wellbeing.
So she is in charge of the SEND stuff that the report is about, yeah?
Any residents aware of this going on? No?
Good, anyways.
Guess what? The situation in Tower Hamlets is, er, not too good and the council has been given some homework in that they have to write a Written Statement of Action because of ‘significant areas of weakness in the area’s practice.’
Seems Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector (HMCI) has said that the council and the area’s clinical commissioning group are responsible for submitting the written statement to Ofsted.
Ouch! That doesn’t sound like much fun does it? But then a lot of these people get paid a good whack so tough.
Anyway the point is that while there is some good stuff in the report there is some bad stuff too.
So it seems that is why nobody outside a few people in the council knew anything about the report until yesterday when a mate told me!
Don’t tell a soul about this. I mean what would happen if residents, especially those who care for SEND adults and children found out?
Then there would be trouble, right?
Cos not only have the numpties screwed up again they have then tried to hide the report by not telling anyone about it.
Standard stuff round here but still pretty low, huh?

Councillors kept in dark too
Cllr Wood tells us that the Children & Education Scrutiny Sub-Committee met 2nd September and this inspection report was on agenda but the councillors were told it was still draft and they could not share the results nor discuss it. We know now the 1st draft was 5th July!
That’s a coverup plain and simple innit? Wonder what else they have got hidden, huh? All sorts.
Which leads us to ask the simple question – Why do these lying bastards at the Town Hall keeping on lying to us?
Probably ‘cos we just keep on taking it.
