A teenager was stabbed in Watney Street at its junction with Cornwall Street on Thursday evening 24th February.
Police officers were called to the scene near to Shadwell DLR Station at around 8.15pm following 999 calls and on attending discovered a male with multiple stab wounds in Cornwall Street.
The victim was treated at the scene then transferred to the Royal London hospital where his condition was described as stable.
The scene of the assault was cordoned off, this was still in place on Friday afternoon.
Items of the victim’s clothing and First Aid equipment could still be seen on the ground where it had been left by emergency services the previous day.
It is standard procedure for the scene of crime to remain in place for this amount of time when a person has been killed but very unusual for a serious assault.
The police are asking for anyone with any information relating to the assault to call 101 and quote CAD 6375/24FEB22.
