Only Tower Hamlets Residents Can Fix This

An increasing number of residents have been in contact with the Enquirer asking ‘How do we get this hidden house buying issue that you have been writing about fixed?’

An increasing number of residents have been in contact with the Enquirer asking ‘How do you sometimes publish stuff that is complete nonsense?’

On 16 December 2021 we wrote about a story which is accurate and which we stand by.

Then on 1st January we thought we had found even more hidden Council property purchases using a payment card – this was absolute and complete nonsense and we apologise unreservedly for publishing such twaddle.

The reason we made this error was because we got our original data mixed up, files containing Payments to Suppliers information along with files containing Payment Card data.

In other parts of the country the possibility that a local authority was buying houses with a credit card would be way beyond credibility and this story would not have seen the light of day.

But this is Tower Hamlets. And anything is possible.

So that’s it. Genuine mistake, genuine apology.

Weird, huh?
